Who may qualify

The settlement covers US purchases of Dr. Squatch products with “natural” on their labeling during the stated purchase period. Covered categories include bar soap, deodorant, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, toothpaste, lotion and beard oil. Check your specific product against the administrator’s full covered-product list.

Purchases for resale do not qualify. Certain Dr. Squatch employees, representatives, affiliated people and their immediate families are excluded. Other exclusions apply, including valid opt-outs and the assigned judges’ immediate families. Read the official notice (PDF) and settlement agreement (PDF) for the full exclusions.

Everyone living at the same physical address counts as one household. Coordinate with your household rather than filing duplicate claims. You must truthfully certify your purchases even when a receipt is not required.

What the payment could be

The agreement starts at $0.50 per product: up to 20 products with receipts and five without receipts. Those categories can be combined. That means a base of $10 with proof, $2.50 without proof, or $12.50 combined. These are base calculations, not promised payments or a fixed maximum.

Your final payment depends on valid claims and the money remaining after court-approved fees, costs and administration. The agreement adjusts payments proportionally up or down. The $9,000,000 settlement fund is shared; it is not an individual payout. See agreement sections 4.1.5 through 4.1.7 for the calculation.

No money is available now. The administrator says there is no guarantee benefits will ever be distributed. The final approval hearing is currently scheduled for March 2, 2027. That is a hearing date, not a payment date, and it may change.

Get your claim ready

The agreement says the claim requires the following information:

  • Your name and mailing address.
  • Your email address, or an attestation that you do not have one.
  • The number of eligible products purchased during the covered period.
  • Certification of retail or online purchases, not for resale or commercial use.
  • Receipt images for purchases claimed with proof.
  • Your own signature under penalty of perjury.

Proof means a third-party retail receipt, physical or online, establishing the purchase and date within the eligible US period. Do not invent purchases, quantities or receipts. The administrator determines whether a claim is valid and may request additional information.

The official form lets you begin with or without a Settlement Claim ID. If you received an email notice, keep it handy. Save your completed claim and your receipts; documents submitted to the administrator cannot be returned.

Read your rights before deciding

Staying in the class can release claims about Dr. Squatch’s “natural” labeling, even if you do not submit a claim. Exclusion and objection have a separate deadline: October 13, 2026. Those options are different from requesting payment. The official FAQ explains the procedures and consequences. This guide is information, not legal advice.

Official sources and safety

Case: Victor Guzman et al. v. Dr. Squatch, LLC, No. 25STCV03523, Los Angeles County Superior Court. The claims concern “natural” labeling. Dr. Squatch denies wrongdoing; the settlement is not a finding of liability. Administrator: Eisner Advisory Group LLC.

We checked the official settlement website, FAQ, agreement and claim portal on October 7, 2026. The current FAQ and claim form use November 1, 2018 as the purchase-period start. The posted agreement contains an earlier November 17, 2018 definition; check with the administrator if this affects your purchase. The live portal supplies the exact deadline shown above.
